Greiner's is Indy's oldest sub shop deli since 1969! They're open 7 days a week and the north store opens at 6 am for serious coffee and breakfast. I will have to check that out! Sounds good.
I ordered the hot mother clucker chicken sandwich. It had seasoned grilled chicken with melted provolone cheese. I added ranch and had her add the toppings the old school way. The sandwich was good. It had a lot of chicken on it. The fresh baked bread was great for this sandwich. You know how some breads would get soggy with sauces. This did not. They offer pizza, wings, soups, salads, and mac and cheese. The buffalo genie - bread crumbs, chicken, in a buffalo sauce with blue cheese will be what I try next time. For $10.85 I think that's a good deal for a sandwich, chips, and a drink. Try the Maui onion chips those are great! Oh, they have ice pellets in their ice machine. I love that kind of ice! They have two ways to enter the restaurant. One door is facing 86th street the other door is after you enter the outdoor area that has other businesses it will be on the right. Will be back! -

This is a cute sandwich shop located in Nora. My best friend went to their Southside location yesterday and had a salad that she raved about. I work fairly close to this location and I've seen it a few times in passing but just never stopped in until today. The staff was extremely friendly! Lisa went out of her way to greet us. They could tell that it was our (my sister & I) first time being there so they were patient and helped us when it came to ordering. The salads weren't listed on the menu, however I knew they had them because of their website. I ordered a small (lunch sized portion) Cobb salad with their creamy and yummy house ranch salad dressing. The salad has fresh mixed greens, shredded chicken, tomato, egg, bacon, cheese and bleu cheese crumbles. For me the blue cheese was a bit overwhelming. It was too much on there for my personal liking. I was a little disappointed because the menu states that the chicken can be boiled, grilled or roasted not shredded chicken. The containers are super small and it was extremely hard to mix things up without making a mess. I paid $5 and some change. You can't beat that. The inside seems super cute but they just received inventory, so most of the tables had boxes on them. Lisa did ask were we eating there so she could clear off tables if we were. We both got our food to go.
The Overall my experience was decent. I will be back to try an actual sandwich next time instead of the salad. -

I was greeted upon arrival. They could tell I was new. I ordered, based on Yelp reviews, the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. Nice size portion, very cheesy, the hot sauce is the perfect addition, breadcrumbs on top five texture. It was ok. However, I ordered it with chicken and they were out. I was forewarned. To me, Mac and cheese alone isn't a meal, so I didn't finish it. The Mac and cheese is appealing to the eyes and the texture is great, it honestly just doesn't have much flavor without the hot sauce.

Fabulous food, adorable space, and friendly service. What could be better? Oh right... the dog deli inside!!
So this story starts with my love for the Mac Genie food truck, that used to be out and about and then went MIA. But before it left the scene, that Mac and cheese was the best I'd ever had. Period. Super cheesy with crunchy breadcrumbs and crispy bacon, just heavenly.
So fast forward and I find out the the Greiner's food truck Mac genie Mac and cheese and I almost lose my mind!
3 of us went and checked out this Nora location this weekend and we're just blown away by the ambience and range of the menu. We tried the Philly cheese steak, hot toddy hoagie, Mac and cheese, and the French fries. Then finished everything off with an amazingly half baked brownie, super gooey and delectable.
Cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu, play and few games, and just kick back! -

Cool little sandwich shop with a lot of character. You'll find a lot of re-purposed equipment here from other familiar spots with a sandwich creation process unique and their own.
For this first visit I decided to try the Italian beef. The subs are top open on a light french type bread. I didn't ask but the bread appears to be baked in house. The bread is light and crispy (I got mine toasted too) and still substantial enough to contain a good amount of ingredients.
The way they prepare the beef was interesting to me. They basically take somewhat raw strips of beef and drop them down in a basket into what I believe was boiling water. After a few minutes it was cooked and added to the sub. You can have your choice of cheese and this sub comes with the usual pepper blend customary of Italian beefs and any other toppings you may be interested in. Everything was very flavorful and good!
They have an assortment of chips to choose from and fountain drinks if you want to do a combo type meal. We were the only ones here at the time we ordered and I did find it took longer than is typically expected for this type of food to be prepared as has been stated in other reviews. This was a Saturday so I wasn't in any kind of hurry and didn't really care. If you're thinking about coming here on your half hour lunch break during the week I would recommend coming at a different time.
There is a good amount of seating and plenty of spots for small and larger groups. Definitely worth checking out next time you're in Nora!
